Bezel-Only vs Full Bustdown

We offer two levels. Bezel-only models keep the original dial and bracelet intact but replace the standard bezel with a stone-set version. You get the flash on the frame without changing the watch's character. Full bustdown is different — stones go on the bezel, case sides, bracelet links, and sometimes the dial markers too. The watch becomes a jewelry piece that happens to tell time.

Most of our iced out AP watches start with the Royal Oak 41mm or Offshore 42mm as the base. The octagonal bezel shape actually works well with stone setting because each flat section holds a row of stones cleanly. We use VVS-grade cubic zirconia in micro-prong settings — same technique high-end jewelers use on genuine diamond bustdown watches. The stones are hand-set, not glued. Each piece takes significantly longer to assemble than a standard model.

What does bustdown mean?
Bustdown means stones are set directly into the watch case, bracelet, and bezel after manufacturing. The metalwork gets drilled and fitted with prong settings to hold each stone. It is an aftermarket modification — the watch is built first, then the stone work is added. A full bust down audemars piguet has coverage on essentially every visible metal surface.
What kind of stones do you use on your iced out AP watches?
VVS-grade cubic zirconia. They are cut to the same proportions as natural diamonds and set using micro-prong technique — each stone sits in its own tiny metal claw. Under normal light they throw the same fire and brilliance you would see on a genuine diamond-set piece. We chose CZ over moissanite for better color consistency across hundreds of stones per watch.
Which AP models are available in iced out versions?
Primarily the Royal Oak 41mm and Royal Oak Offshore 42mm. These two case shapes are our most popular for iced out ap watch builds. We add new references regularly — check back or message us if you want a specific model set with stones. Custom bezel-only requests are also possible on most Royal Oak references.
